The United Arab Emirates, archaeological projects

Capital: Abu Dhabi, surface: 83 600 km2. Federal state created in 1971. The federation is composed of seven emirates: Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Ra's al-Khaimah, Sharjah, Umm al-Quwain.

The archaeological site of Umm al-Quwain is directed by Sophie Mery (CREEAH-UMR 6566). UAQ 2 is a shell midden site from Neolithic period, dated from 5th millenium.
